Breast Cancer Ireland

Think Pink with Breast Cancer Ireland and Dishmatic

Here at Dishmatic we’re thrilled to announce our collaboration with a remarkable charity, Breast Cancer Ireland. The aim of which is to raise much needed funds and increase awareness of breast cancer during October’s Breast Cancer Awareness Month.

Who is Breast Cancer Ireland?

Breast Cancer Ireland is a registered charity with a mission to support ongoing pioneering research, whilst at the same time providing education and awareness on the importance of good breast health for women of all ages. Speed of research discovery is paramount and therefore Breast Cancer Ireland fundraises hard in order to make this vision a reality.

It’s with thanks to funding, the charity’s outreach coordinators have met more than 3,500 women across schools, companies and community groups in the past 12 months to deliver breast cancer awareness programmes in Ireland. Sessions involve educating women about good breast health, explaining about the eight signs and symptoms to be aware of and showing them how to do their own breast examination because, just as the charity says, ‘awareness will save lives’. See Breast Cancer Ireland's infographic below for tips!

In addition to education and outreach activities, donations to Breast Cancer Ireland fund pivotal research programmes, such as investment in International Clinical Trials.

Speaking of the charity’s mission, Aisling Hurley, CEO of Breast Cancer Ireland, says: “Our goal is to transform breast cancer from the often fatal disease that it is, with 690 deaths annually here in Ireland, to a treatable illness that can be maintained and offers a long-term quality of life.” For more information visit:
