This is a tricky one because it depends on the amount of washing up you do. As a general rule of thumb if you wash up every day using your Dishmatic we’ve been told that a lot of people change theirs around every 2 weeks but if you’re not sure it’s best to change the refill when the coloured abrasive looks worn out. We recommend that you give your refill head a good rinse after each use under hot water to keep it as clean as possible.

Our refills are different colours for different types of washing up:

Green: These are our general purpose refill suitable for all your day to day washing up needs

White/Blue: These are our non-scratch refills which are ideal for all delicate and non-stick surfaces. If in doubt test on a non-visible area first

Black: These are our heavy duty refills which are ideal for those tougher washing up tasks. These shouldn’t be used on delicate surfaces.

Just like all scourers, small fibres might come away as you’re washing up, this is just normal wear and tear. We recommend replacing your refill if it’s really worn out and remove any pieces from your washing up bowl so they don’t go into the sink

We’ve designed the Glide brush so that it stays clean however when the occasional bit of food does get stuck in the bristles you can rinse it through under the tap or just pop it in the dishwasher on your normal setting

Most of our packaging is made from recycled card and is 100% recyclable. We’re dedicated to high quality manufacturing in our factory in the UK and where possible we are trying to have as high a recycled content as possible in all our products. Our Dishmatic handles and refills are made using recycled plastic and are hard wearing multi use items, the handles are now also recyclable, just pop them in your household recycling bin J Don’t forget to check the back of the packaging to see which of our products can be popped in the dishwasher, washing machine, to be used time and time again!

Simply unclip the worn-out refill, slide this off, and replace with a new one. Don’t forget all our different Dishmatic refills fit on all our handles so you can choose which refill you want to pop on depending on what you want to use this for 🙂

There is a correct way to screw up the cap on a Dishmatic Style to prevent any leakage, the two lines on the cap must line up with the two lines on the handle to ensure this is on correctly. Please see image below for a visual explanation on how this should be done.
