‘Tis the season to be jolly but for many of us Christmas, and the run up to it, can also be a time of added stress.

Whether it’s present shopping panic, menu decision mayhem or cleaning the home chaos – there’s often lots to play on our minds and demand extra hours of our time.

So, in keeping with the spirit of giving, how about you give something back to yourself this festive period by looking after your own wellbeing?

Here are just a few suggestions to help you do just that:

  • Prepare – plan where you can and ask for help when you need it (although you may be a little late for Santa’s elves this time round)!
  • Be a little selfish – avoid taking on too much and set aside some time just for you, if you fancy it.
  • Diet and exercise – ah ok so this one is perhaps more tricky when it’s often a time of overindulgence. But try to balance it out – a few extra sprouts, one less glass of wine and time enjoying the great outdoors and getting some exercise.
  • Sleep – again typically most of us are rather deprived of this as we juggle the demands of Christmas lists, creating nifty nativity outfits or magicking up some mince pies, but quality shut eye is known to be good for us.
  • Tidy – as the saying goes tidy house, tidy mind. Clean surroundings can often give us a sense of wellbeing, or order.  You may even find doing the housework (including the washing up!) therapeutic too, although most of us want to breeze through it as quickly as possible! And don’t forget our revamped Dishmatic, perfect for a stocking filler The Dishmatic Style is available in red, green and white. It’s also sporting a new sleeve especially for the festive season!

Give something back – it’s a time for giving after all, whether that’s collecting for a local foodbank, volunteering at a soup kitchen or buying a gift for a child in need, giving back can often help you to feel good.
